Apr 30, 2014 - By Craig Blumenshine, Staff WriterThe Riverton Wolverine boys soccer team, now tied with Green River for the lead in the Class 4-A West with a 5-1 league record, battles the Casper Natrona Mustangs on the road Thursday at Cheney Field.
The Wolverines regained a share of the conference lead after Rock Springs, a team Riverton swept this season, surprised Green River 3-1 Tuesday in Green River.
The Lady Wolverines girls soccer team also will challenge NC, but their game is on the home pitch Thursday at Wolverine Field.
Both varsity contests are scheduled to start at 6 p.m., according the the Riverton High School activities office.
Both Riverton teams will play Casper Kelly Walsh on Saturday. The Wolverine boys meet KW at Wolverine Field, while the Lady Wolverines will travel to Casper. Saturday, both varsity games are set to begin at 1 p.m.
Earlier this season, the Wolverine boys beat Casper Natrona at home 3-1 and Casper Kelly Walsh 4-1 in Casper.
The Lady Wolverines have yet to beat either Casper school this year, falling to NC 4-1 in Casper and losing to KW 2-1 at home.
There is no charge to attend regular season games at Wolverine Field.
