Cowboys ink shooting guard from Sweden

May 5, 2014 - The Associated Press

LARAMIE -- A Swedish shooting guard who played prep basketball in Kansas this year is headed to the University of Wyoming.

Cowboy head coach Larry Shyatt announced Friday that 19-year-old Alexander Aka Gorski has signed a national letter of intent to play for Wyoming.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound player will have four years of eligibility at Wyoming.

Gorski is from Lund, Sweden, and played this past season for Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, averaging more than 14 points, four assists and four rebounds a game.

He played on Sweden's under-20 team at the European National Championships last summer.

Shyatt says Aka Gorski is a deep shooter that the team needs as it competes in the Mountain West Conference.
