This is an open letter to whoever lost or, probably, dumped a little black-and-tan dog on Cooper Road.
This little dog showed up on Tuesday afternoon, and has never left. On Tuesday and Wednesday he would run up and down the road, waiting and hoping his owner would return for him.
He is still waiting, but now instead of watching each car go by, he just lies in the ditch, too weak to move. As far as I know he has had one mouse to eat.
He lies there now, hoping to die -- both of starvation and a broken heart.
How heart-wrenching that this little dog would choose loyalty over survival.
