Update: Robbery suspect apprehended

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office has apprehended the at-large suspect in a robbery Sunday evening.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, Bow Hepner, 34, of Casper, was located by a deputy around noon Monday on Wyoming Highway 789, roughly three miles north of the highway's intersection with Rendezvous Road.

Hepner led deputies on a brief chase through farm land before he was apprehended, the release stated.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office has apprehended 34 year old Bow Hepner of Casper. Hepner was wanted in connection with a Home Invasion Robbery that occurred Sunday evening near Lander. His accomplice, Kelly Meehan of Gillete, was arrested near Riverton shortly after the alleged crime. Meehan fought with a Deputy Sheriff during her arrest, while Hepner fled the area.

Hepner was located near milepost 93 on Highway 789 by a Deputy Sheriff around noon today. He was about three miles north of the intersection of Rendezvous Road, heading south towards Lander on foot. Hepner spotting approaching Law Enforcement and began running west through farm land. Hepner led Deputies on a 10 minute foot chase before he was finally apprehended without further incident.

Hepner and Meehan are both incarcerated at the Fremont County Jail, pending the filing of charges by the Fremont County Attorney's Office.

"We had a busy weekend, and this incident was out of the ordinary for Fremont County." "We are happy with the outcome of this investigation; no one was injured and two violent criminals are locked up."

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating an "armed and dangerous" robbery suspect.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, Bow Hepner, 34, of Casper, is a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 160 pounds with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and faded blue jeans.

The sheriff's office asks that residents who see him call law enforcement immediately by dialing 911.

Officials said he was last seen Sunday evening running eastbound along the banks of the Little Wind River near the 789 Smokeshop and Casino outside of Riverton.

Deputies have been tracking and searching for Hepner since he fled Sunday.

The Fremont County Sheriffs Office is investigating a Home Invasion Robbery that occurred near Lander Sunday night. At the present time we have one subject in custody, while another remains at large.

The Sheriff's Office was called around 7:45PM to a residence near milepost 84 on Highway 789, where it was reported that two suspects had drove to the home, contacted the occupants and began inquiring about directions to Rawlins. The victims attempted to give the two verbal directions, however they requested to see a map with more details, at which time they were invited into the home. At that point the man and woman held the victims at bay while they ransacked and stole several items from the home to include a firearm. They then fled the area heading north toward Riverton, at which point the Sheriff's Office was called.

County Deputies were able to get the suspect information aired quickly and the suspect vehicle was located by a Deputy on the south end of Riverton. The Deputy made contact with the vehicle, at which time the male suspect fled the area. His female companion was detained onsite after a brief struggle with the Deputy Sheriff.

The female in custody has been identified as 25 year old Kelly Meehan of Gillette. At this point she has been charged with Robbery, she is also being held for the U.S. Marshall Service regarding an outstanding Federal Warrant. Investigators have identified the male subject as 34 year old Bow Hepner of Casper, Hepner should be considered armed and dangerous; anyone observing Hepner should contact Law Enforcement immediately by dialing 911.

Hepner was last observed along the banks of the Little Wind River near the Smoke Shop Casino running eastbound. Deputies have been tracking and searching for the suspect since last night. Our blood hound will be assisting this morning.

Hepner is a 34 year old white male, 5 foot 11 inches,160 pounds with a shaved head. He was last observed wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and faded blue jeans. A recent photograph will be attached to this release.

The victims were not injured in the incident, which remains under investigation.
