Dog's story touching, but people need help as well

May 22, 2014 - Jenny Lardner, Riverton

I have read the letters to the editor about the abandoned dog on Cooper Road and all the concern that came pouring out of everyone for it. But all I ask of everyone is to have that same level of concern for your fellow man. There are old people in this county, kids, sick people and poor people, etc., who would benefit very much from that kind of concern for them and their problems.

The "safety net" around here isn't fantastic, but there are things that we all can do to make life easier for the less fortunate.

If we can get fired up like this about a dog, then we should be able to do the same for our fellow human beings.
