We are recent arrivals to the community and look forward to some good fishing in the "golden years." I enjoy reading the local paper (much better than where we came from in Ohio, so thank you for that), and I was interested in the column by Randy Tucker about the old A&W drive-in and bowling alley in Thermopolis.
I enjoyed bowling in a night league in my former state, and I truly was surprised to hear that there are no bowling lanes in Riverton. A new neighbor told me there once were two big family bowling centers in town. And now there are none -- it is hard to believe. With the lanes in Thermopolis torn down, I am told that the only nearby bowling center is in Lander.
I am too old to do it myself at this point, but I could almost guarantee that a new, modern bowling center in Riverton would be successful.
I do not mean to say it would be easy or cheap, but in a city of this size it would be successful in the long term. I am sure of it.
