Antique engines go on display at annual show
Jun 9, 2014 - From staff reports
The 19th Annual Don Layton Memorial Antique Tractor and Engine Show will be June 14 and June 15 in Shoshoni. Admission is free.
The show opens at 9 a.m. when visitors can watch organizers unload tractors, and the "tractor drive" will begin at 10 a.m. both days.
The event includes a yard sale, craft vendors, antique sewing machines, a blacksmith, and engines and tractors to view, including two full-size steam engines and a 1/3 size Reeves & Co. steam engine.
Music and food vendors, including a Dutch oven cook, will be available for lunch.
At 1 p.m., the Flywheelers will auction quilts and any equipment the members or public would like to donate to the club.
On June 14, the antique tractor pull will follow lunch, and on June 15 it will take place after the tractor drive. There will be a barrel train, several pedal tractors to ride and a sandbox for the kids.
The club and Shoshoni Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring raffles for a windmill and tractor and trailer. The drawings will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. Participants need not be present to win.
