St. Margaret's taps Chouinard as next principal

St. Margaret's Catholic School has hired Mary Jo Chouinard as principal for the 2014-2015 school year.

She has 39 years experience in education, including 24 years as an administrator. She was employed by Fremont County School District 25 for 33 years as an English teacher, librarian and administrator. Her most recent post was as principal of Rendezvous Elementary. In 2009, she was selected as Wyoming's National Distinguished Principal.

Chouinard has been a member of the St Margaret's Parish since 1979 and serves on the parish council.

She is no stranger to Catholic schools, having worn a school uniform as she attended parochial schools from first grade to her graduation from Billings Central Catholic High School.

"My parents gave me the gift of a Catholic education That gift enabled me to succeed academically and strengthen my Christian values," she said. "Now it is my chance to pay it forward. I retied, had a great year of travel and relaxation, and now I am ready to get back to work. I am looking forward to a the opportunity to with with the students at St. Margaret's."
