Count me as against the city's plan to discontinue picking up trash in alleys. I am not convinced at all that this would save any time or money when you can pickup the trash from several houses at once in the alley compared to stopping at every address when they use the little containers.
But I am convinced that this will make traffic worse and result in worse service. And I will bet that there will be more trash in the streets.
This is what alleys are for, so we don't have so many garbage trucks on residential streets, and so we don't have trash containers in our front yards. Please keep doing alley pickup.
