Three out of the four Fremont County football players scored a touchdown in helping the North dominate the South 41-13 Saturday night at the annual Shrine Bowl game in Casper.

Riverton High School's Austin Patterson had an early touchdown reception to set the pace of the game.

Sterling Baker of Dubois rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns.

"Sterling carried a lot of the load for us, and so did Story Penning (Hulett)," Patterson said. "I have never really watched Sterling run in person. To see Sterling break tackles like he does was a little bit of a shocker."

Jack Mazurie of Lander returned a late fumble recovery for a touchdown. Logan Hartbank of Riverton played in the defensive backfield for the North.

The game featured the top seniors from last fall from all classifications.

"I thought that we played really good," Patterson said. "The defense stepped up really big after two early touchdowns from the South. Then we really didn't let them move the ball or score after that."

Gillette's Vic Wilkerson was the winning coach for the North.

Six minutes into the game, Patterson hooked up with Sam Turner (Casper Natrona) for a 24-yard touchdown pass for the first score of the game for the North.

"The call was a slant and go," Patterson said. "We had already run a couple of slants before that. It was a perfectly thrown ball right over my shoulder. The ball just stuck to my hands. It was a pretty big play in the first quarter."

After a South's touchdown, Baker found the end zone on 3-yard touchdown run with 1:22 left on the quarter for a 14-7 advantage.

"After we got a couple of stops that really helped the offense get going," Patterson said. "After they scored two touchdowns, we felt that we needed to step it up."

The North scored the first two touchdowns of the second quarter before the South put up a touchdown with 41 seconds left in the half.

The North had a commanding 29-13 lead at intermission.

Early in the third quarter, Mazurie returned a fumble 77 yards for a score from his linebacker position to clinch the victory.

Baker added his second touchdown of the game on a 32-yard run.
