TripAdvisor honors hotel

Jun 19, 2014 - From staff reports

The Wind River Hotel and Casino was honored by TripAdvisor with a 2014 Certificate of Excellence award.

TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel site and awards the hospitality certificate to businesses who maintain an overall rating of four stars or higher from travelers who post reviews to their site. Businesses around the world receive the honor, and only 10 percent of the businesses featured on the site received the award.

Opening in 2012, the Wind River Hotel and Casino is a 90-room hotel that features three deluxe suites, a workout room, a gift shop and spectacular views of the Wind River Range. Also located in the hotel lobby is the Northern Arapaho Experience Cultural Room, which tells the history of the Northern Arapaho Tribe through storytelling, paintings, artifacts and photos, and the experience room most recently featured the art of Miss Native American USA Sarah Ortegon.

The hotel is connected to a casino --the largest gaming facility in the state --where visitors can receive special discounts that can be used in the gift shops, Espresso Bar, Cee Nokuu Cafe and the Red Willow Restaurant.

The Wind River Hotel and Casino is the largest employer in the county with more than 700 employees.
