Jun 24, 2014 - From staff reportsThe Lander Rotary Club has donated $15,000 to the City of Lander to aid in the construction of the Lander Community Center.
Club president Bryan Neely presented the check on behalf of the club to community resource coordinator Gary Michaud and Mayor Mick Wolfe at a Rotary luncheon Wednesday.
The Lander Rotary Club raised the funds for the community center over the past two years by sponsoring the Lander Shamrock Shindig in March. The annual event is a "fun evening of food, drink, dancing and music." Auctions and a raffle of prizes and a "pot of gold" helped the club raise the $15,000 donation.
The Lander Rotary Club expects to host the Lander Shamrock Shindig again next year in the new Lander Community Center.
