Raiders sweep Lovell, head to Cody for pair

In two low-scoring games, the Riverton Raiders swept Lovell 6-4 and 6-2 Tuesday night in an American Legion non-conference baseball doubleheader on the road in Big Horn County.

The Raiders are now 4-0 against Lovell this season.

Riverton only had nine players dress for the doubleheader but had enough pitching and defense to win both games.

"The kids came out ready to go," Riverton manager Brady Beers said. Riverton stands at 13-15 overall.

The Raiders played Cody in a doubleheader on Tuesday night.

Riverton 6, Lovell 2


Riverton fell behind 2-1 in the opening game with Lovell but jumped ahead with five runs in the sixth inning.

Big hits by Riverton came from Steven Reinig and Tyler Landis.

Landis had a two-run double to give the Raiders the lead.

"We just didn't look back after that," Beers said.

Baylor Beers went all seven innings on the mount. He struck out eight and walked one. He had three hits at the plate.

Riverton catcher Steven Reinig threw out four Lovell runners in the first game.

Riverton 6, Lovell 4


Andrew Von Rein was the winning pitcher for Riverton in the second.

Von Rein gave up four runs, eight hits and had eight strikeouts. He finished with eight walks.

Beers smacked three hits for Riverton. Von Rein and Austin Locker had three hits apiece.

Riverton's Brayden Draper had a triple.
