Aug 14, 2014 - By Bruce Tippets, Sports EditorA trio of Riverton Raiders received American Legion baseball postseason honors for the 2014 season.
Baylor Beers and Steven Reinig were selected second-team all-state after the state tournament.
Reinig was a catcher and pitcher for the Raiders.
Beers and Reinig split time on the catching duties.
The two also were selected to the all-district team.
Andrew Von Rein was named to the second team.
He was the shortstop for the Raiders and also saw time on the mound.
The highlight of the season for the Raiders was qualifying for the state tournament in Laramie.
It was the first time in five years, Riverton made the state tournament.
The qualifying clincher came in a 15-13 victory over Evanston at the district tournament in Rock Springs.
Riverton lost to Laramie twice, 15-6 and 9-6.
The 1-2 record put the Raiders as the No. 4 seed.
At the state tournament, Riverton fell to Cody 13-2 and to Rock Springs 14-4.
Cody dominated Powell 15-1 for the state championship.

Pitcher of the Year -- John Beaudrie, Cody.
Coach of the Year -- Bart Grenz, Cody.
