LeBrun 'right man' for the job in attorney vote
Aug 15, 2014 - Marilyn N. Starks, Riverton
I am commenting in regard to the paid letter regarding Mr. Patrick LeBrun, which bore the signature of "Mr. Robert R. Rose, Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney" (for Fremont County.)
The hatefulness demonstrated by Mr. Rose in his letter was truly shocking, along with its untruths. It is especially shocking since Mr. Rose apparently has never been introduced to, nor met, nor even talked personally with Mr. LeBrun. But I take it with a grain of salt, knowing that in this day and age, modern politicking, as deplorable as it may be, often includes loathing, hostility and vindictiveness as the way to fight for the election of one's boss.
The question I wish to raise has to do with Mr. Rose using his official county office to campaign for his boss, Mr. Bennett. By signing as a county official instead of as a private citizen, some might think that Mr. Rose expresses the thoughts and feelings of all of the employees of the Fremont County Attorney's Office. This appears to be misuse of his position.
ln our dealings with Patrick LeBrun, we have always found him to be honest, decent and most capable. He was thorough, fair and was always sure to inform us of the laws he and we must, and would, work.
The man that Mr. Rose was attempting to discredit is not the man we dealt with over many months.
I now borrow the final sentence from Mr. Rose's advertisement, with two important differences. Mr. Rose, we won't get fooled by you again.
I invite the voters of Fremont County to cast their votes for Patrick LeBrun. He is the right man for the office of Fremont County Attorney.
