Feb 9, 2012 - StaffThe Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team returns home for their only game of the week as they host the New Mexico Lobos.
The game is set for Saturday, Feb. 11, beginning at 2 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to support breast cancer research.
Wyoming is currently 9-12 overall and 5-3 in Mountain West play after a 51-47 overtime victory against UNLV on Saturday in Las Vegas. The Cowgirls are led by Chaundra Sewell who is averaging a team high 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds.
Freshman Kayla Woodward follows with 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds, while junior Ashley Sickles is adding 11.4 points plus 6.1 rebounds per game. As a team, they are shooting 444-1124 (.395) from the field and 98-361 (.271) from beyond the arc.
Sickles currently ranks sixth in minutes played, ninth in blocked shots, tenth in rebounding and 13th in scoring. Sewell is among the Top 15 in points, rebounds, assists, blocked shots and field goal percentage.
In league games, Woodward is second in field goal percentage, third in scoring, sixth in rebounding, minutes played and free throw percentage, seventh in steals and eighth in 3-point percentage.
