May 2, 2012 - StaffLander native David J. "D.J." Atkinson, 46, of Broomfield, Colo., died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Boulder Community Hospital.
Funeral services were Friday, April 27, at Flatirons Community Church in Lafeyette, Colo.
Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander with ashes spread in Colorado.
David John Atkinson was born June 1, 1965, in Lander.
He graduated from Lander Valley High School and received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computers from the University of Wyoming.
Following college graduation, he started working at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Boulder, Colo., and continued there until his death.
He is survived by his father, David K. Atkinson and his stepmother, Joan; mother, Gayle (Cole) Pardew; half-sister Gaylene Walker and her husband Kirby; half-brothers Curtis Syme, Kenneth Syme and Marvin Syme and his wife Shery; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10th Ave., Broomfield, CO 80020.
