May 15, 2012 - The Associated PressLARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- Don Yentes is out has head coach of the Wyoming track and field and cross country programs.
UW Athletics Director Tom Burman announced Monday that a national search for a successor will begin immediately.
Burman says in a statement that the university has invested a significant amount of resources in its track facilities to help the programs become more competitive.
Yentes had been a part of the UW track and field and cross country programs for the past 15 years, starting out has an assistant coach in 1997. He was head coach for the past 12 years.
This past weekend, both the men's and women's track and field teams placed last in the Mountain West Conference championships.
