A son was born to Kathryn and Evan Piquette, of Riverton, at 8:22 a.m. May 3, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces.

Deaths

GAUDERN

Jack E. Gaudern, 91, of Shoshoni, died Friday, May 18, at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton. Arrangements are pending through the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.

MAY 19

Arbor Day 2012 is at 10 a.m. May 19 at Veterans Park behind Riverton City Hall. Event includes a proclamation by Riverton Mayor Ron Warpness, music performances, recognition of poster contest winners and a flag presentation.

Little Squirts Saturdays is 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. the third Saturday of each month, from January to May, at the Lander Art Center, 224 Main St., Lander, WY 82520. This is a series of classes for children ages 18 months through 5 years old. Three years old and younger must have a caregiver present. Classes will experience art, movement and storytelling in a fun atmosphere. Cost is $10 per class or $45 five class punch card. For more information, visit www.landerartcenter.com.

Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run is at 11 a.m. at the Riverton Little League Fields. This baseball skills competition allows boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Winners advance to the state competition. Registration is free and begins at 10:30 a.m.

Change the World Event Spaghetti Dinner is at 5 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 262 N. Third St., Lander. Cost is $5 per person, children under 5 are free. Proceeds of the dinner will be used to fight malaria.

"Strength in Numbers" Showing, presented by Lander Cycling and Old Town Coffee, is at 7 p.m. at Old Town Coffee, 300 Main St., Lander. Advance tickets are available at Old Town Coffee. Tickets are $12, $10 for Lander Cycling Club Members. Event includes food and door and raffle prizes. All proceeds go to Lander Cycling Trail Development.

Lander Valley High School Commencement is at 2 p.m. at Lander Valley High School, 350 Baldwin Creek Road, Lander.

Shoshoni High School Commencement is at 2 p.m. at Shoshoni High School.

Wyoming Indian High School Commencement is at 2 p.m. at Wyoming Indian High School.

St. Stephen's Indian School Commencement is at 6 p.m. at St. Stephen's Indian School, 128 Mission Road, St. Stephens.

Riverton Community Food Bank Open House is 10 a.m. to noon at 20 Gardens North Road, Riverton. See the upgraded facilities, including new cold-storage units and shelving. Community members in need of the service can familiarize themselves with the operation, and food or financial donors can find out how to contribute.

Regional Economist Ernie Goss Presentation is 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wind River Casino, 10269 Highway 789, Riverton. The Wyoming Business Alliance is hosting Dr. Ernie Goss, the MacAllister Chair of Regional Economics, to speak at a dinner meeting/presentation. Registration begins at 5 p.m. with a buffet dinner at 5:15 p.m. The Program starts at 5:45 p.m. and ends at 7:15 p.m. The cost is $40. Emergency calls

In Riverton police reports from Thursday to Friday morning:

- Gerald Friday, 49, of Riverton, was arrested for assault (domestic violence). The arrest occurred at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday in the 200 block of Major Avenue.

- At 7:53 p.m. on Thursday in the 700 block of North Federal Boulevard, police arrested John Chavez, 29, of Riverton, for public intoxication.

In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Thursday to Friday morning:

- Rebecca Baeder, 22, of Lander, was arrested for failure to appear.

- Chezrae Manzanares, 24, of Riverton, was arrested for failure to appear.

- Loni Warren, 30, of Lander, was arrested for contempt of court.

- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 14 calls and firefighters were dispatched twice.
