Russel D. Tofflemire Sr.

Former Riverton resident Russel D. Tofflemire Sr. died Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

He was 74 years old.

Russel D. Tofflemire was born May 11, 1937, in Lead, S.D.

He was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and Air Force, and he later worked as an electrician until his retirement in 2000.

He lived in Riverton in the 1980s.

His family said Mr. Tofflemire enjoyed rifles and other firearms.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association as well as the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid baker.

Mr. Tofflemire is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susana Tofflemire; his children, Russel Tofflemire Jr. and wife Anastacia, and Susie Nielsen; grandchildren Melisa Tofflemire, Justan Tripp, Russel Tofflemire and Stacia Tofflemire.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Pearl Tofflemire, and three sons.
