Dubois made it a sweep of longtime Fremont County rival Shoshoni in inter-class action Friday night in Shoshoni. The Class 1-A Rams came from 12 down in the final period to escape with a 59-56 win over the 2-A Wranglers.

Shoshoni fell again Saturday afternoon at home, downed 57-54 by Thermopolis.

Shoshoni seniors Jordan Whitener and Nick Wright provided the inside/outside combo for the Wranglers, with Whitener hitting six from the "Promised Land," including five in a row in the third period. Wright hit just four shots from the paint but was 7-of-8 from the line.

Dubois countered with the dominating presence of 6-5 sophomore Austin Tharp. The Wranglers couldn't find a consistent defensive answer to Tharp in the paint. The sophomore tallied 27 points to lead all scorers and spent much of the night at the line, hitting 11 of 15 attempts.

Shoshoni trailed by two at the break but came roaring back in the third on the sharpshooting of Whitener.R00;Only Tharp scored for the Rams in the third, with three baskets and a pair from the charity stripe.

Whitener's shooting exhibition gave the Wranglers a 47-36 lead entering the final stanza. Dubois played zone defense for much of the opening three periods, but the Wranglers pulled the ball out in the fourth, so the Rams switched to man defense.

"They switched and we just stood there," Shoshoni head coach Max Mills said. "We didn't run our man offense well at all."

The Wranglers hit just two baskets in the fourth and went 5-6 from the line. Tharp and Mitchell Baker paced the Dubois comeback with eight points each in the last period.
