Fremont Fiber Arts Guild to host three spinning classes

Author Maggie Casey will be in Riverton from Sept. 25 to Sept. 26 for a series of spinning workshops hosted by the Fremont Fiber Arts Guild. The deadline to register for the classes is Saturday.

Casey will give a beginner's drop spindle lesson 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25.

The next day, Casey will lead two half-day classes for more advanced spinners. In the first session, from 9 a.m. to noon, participants will learn how to spin boucle yarn. The second session, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., will address the differences between English and American longdraw.

Participants in the classes on Sept. 26 need to bring their own spinning wheels.

All of the classes will be at Riverton United Methodist Church, 1116 W. Park Ave.
