Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Blue Sky Hall in Ethete with burial to follow at the Yellow Calf Cemetery in Ethete.
A wake starts at 7p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Blue Sky Hall and will continue at 528 Blue Sky Hwy.
Her family said Ms. Sun Rhodes was a family orientated person who liked bringing her family together with cook outs, big dinners and ceremonies. They said her hobbies included playing pool, darts, bowling, cards, bingo, casino slots, watching movies and the Sci-Fi channel, listening to music, doing laundry, taking long drives and watching the sun rise.
Ms. Sun Rhodes is survived by sons Michael Yawakia, Craig Whiteplume, Kevin Whiteplume and Owen Whiteplume; adopted sons Lonnie Bell and Elliott Sun Rhodes Jr.; daughters Lisa Yawakia, Susie Yawakia, Yvonne Whiteplume and Tracey Whiteplume; brothers George Sun Rhodes and Elliott Sun Rhodes Sr.; sister Olivia James; grandchildren Dominick Sun Rhodes, Silas Sun Rhodes, Aaron Bird Chief, Waylon Bird Chief Jr., Josephine Whiteplume, Kyell W. Ute Jr., Trent Whiteplume, Avari Yawakia and Jaylee Mofsie; nephews Melvin Mofsie Jr., Henry Sun Rhodes Jr., William Warren Jr., James Warren and Trevor Warren; nieces Melaine Mofsie, Antonia Warren, Marylin Warren, Tristen Warren and Laurel Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Sun Rhodes and Olive M. (Crispin) Sun Rhodes; son Allen Yawakia; sisters Veronica Sun Rhodes and Charlotte Sun Rhodes; brothers Edward Sun Rhodes and Henry Sun Rhodes Sr.; nieces IdaLee Mofsie and Thersa Sun Rhodes; adopted son, Reid Bell; and members of the families of Sun Rhodes, Crispin, Lee, Aramajo, Aragon, Trumble, Wanstall and Pouge.
Arrangements are by Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.
