Marven E. Cachelin, 63, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Lander Regional Hospital following a battle with cancer.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander, with a viewing preceding at 10 a.m. Interment follows at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
A reception for family and friends will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in the Monarch Room of the Pronghorn Lodge.
Marven Eugene Cachelin was born to Urban Edward Cachelin and Bernetta Genieve (Nelson) Cachelin on March 7, 1949, in Omaha, Neb. He moved with his family to Ethete during his elementary school years.
He was a graduate of Lander Valley High School in 1968. During his senior year of high school, he was shot in a hunting accident and was cared for at Bishop Randall Hospital.
During his life in Fremont County he lived in Ethete, Pavillion, Kinnear and Lander.
He married Pauline Beatrice Lopez on March 12, 1970, at the Nazarene Church in Lander.
Mr. Machelin worked in the oil and gas industry for 44 years and as a rig manager for Unit Drilling Company for the past six years.
Mr. Cachelin is survived by his wife, Pauline Cachelin; his two sons, Michael and his wife Morgan of Green River, and Thomas and his wife Janelle of Lititz, Pa.; his mother, Bernetta Goodrich of Lander; sister Cindy Deshaw of Lander; brother Terry Cachelin and his wife Kathy of Lander; sister Linda Sutherland and husband Steve of Thermopolis; brother David Cachelin of Canada; sister Karen Good and husband David of Lander; four grandchildren, Megan, Carsen, Benjamin and Madelyn.Â
He was preceded in death by his father Urban.
