A daughter was born to Cassandra and Ryan Wood, of Riverton, at 10:19 a.m. April 24, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces.



Jeanette M. Benda, 72, of Hudson, died Sunday, June 10, in Casper. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, at the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Visitation precedes at 10 a.m.


Joshua Cade Hurtado, 2, died Tuesday, June 12, at the Lander Valley Medical Center. Traditional American Indian funeral services are at noon Friday, June 15, at Rocky Mountain Hall at Fort Washakie. Interment follows at the Sacajawea Cemetery at Fort Washakie. Evening service and wake are at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the home of Clarence and Carmen Thomas, No. 28 Crooked Lane, Fort Washakie.

Abba's House Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser is 8 a.m. at Abba's House Office, 108 S. Seventh St. East, Riverton. Event will begin with a a prayer for the unborn. Make a Walking Stick is 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center, 907 W. Ramshorn St., Dubois. Willow sticks, crutch tips, decorations and tools will be provided. Emergency calls

In Riverton Police Department reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Terry Burch, 25, of Riverton, was arrested for a contempt of court warrant.

- John Paul Brown, 59, of Riverton, was arrested for public intoxication on the 800 block of Main Street in response to a warrant arrest call.

- Dominic Arthur, 43, of Riverton, was arrested for public intoxication on the 800 block of Main Street in response to a warrant arrest call.

In Fremont County Sheriff's Office reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Bart Mowat, 48, of Grover, was arrested for a court order.

- Donald Ingwerson, 51, of Riverton, was arrested for probation revocation.

- A 16-year-old Riverton girl was arrested for a drug court violation.

- A 16-year-old Riverton boy was arrested for a drug court violation.

- Charles Geboe, 42, of Riverton, was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender.

- County ambulance crews were called out seven times during this timeframe. Firefighters responded to six calls for service.

Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan said a preliminary autopsy report states Joshua Hurtado, 2, died of drowning. Full autopsy reports are usually completed in four to six weeks.

The boy's body was found in the North Fork River Monday night.

Hurtado was of the Fort Washakie area.

McAuslan on Thursday morning maintained his belief that there was nothing suspicious surrounding the death.
