Cutbacks at trash stations have associated costs tooJun 19, 2012 - Mark Romer, Riverton Editor: In following along with the changes occurring in the Fremont County Solid Waste saga, one thing keeps standing out to me. It is constantly stated that all of the cutbacks in the transfer stations are because of budget constraints. What about all of the extra costs being incurred by law enforcement agencies who have to investigate garbage dumping and the extra patrolling that must be done to discourage the culprits? What about the extra costs incurred in cleaning up after the fact? It looks like one department passing on its financial woes to other agencies with better things to do. |
