Jun 21, 2012 - StaffAiden G. Eagle Road, 5, of Lander, died Friday, June 15, 2012, in Rosebud, S.D., as the result of a traffic accident.
Traditional American Indian funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the family home, No. 433 N. Third St., Lander. The Rev. Father Kinner officiates. Interment follows at the Wind Dancer Cemetery at For Washakie.
An evening service and wake will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at the family home.
Aiden Gabriel Eagle Road was born Aug. 20, 2006, in Lander the son of Nicole (Haukaas) Eagle Road and Casey Eagle Road. He grew up in Lander and was a student at North Elementary School.
His family said he enjoyed the water, hunting, fishing and camping with his father and grandfather, participated in baseball and t-ball, liked playing with his Nintendo Wii and playing video games with his mother, grandmother, Aunt Tina and his cousins.
Eagle Road is survived by his parents; aunts Jennifer, Stephanie, Shaila, Alica and Rhonda Haukaas, Lauren Medicine Horse, Jeannie Ross, Faith and Shyann and Alison Durgin, Shawna Washakie, Denise Little Crown, Diane Garcia, Cathy Perry, Kortney O'Neal and Amanda Eagle Road, Alicia, Unique, and Tina Haukaas, Desiree, Mandy, Katie, and Michelle Eagle Road, and Rachel Hutchison; uncles Vincent Haukaas Jr., Nelson Ute, Brandt Teran, Darrell O'Neal, Jeremy Washakie, and Jimmy Eagle Road, Gilbert and Raman Rodriguez, Jeremiah and John Nation, Chris Eagle Road, David Haukaas, Andrew Medicine Horse, Javier Hermosillo, and Jarel Little Crow; cousins Tristent and Mikayla Medicine Horse, Twinney, Brando, Tatum and Dallie Washakie, Mason Lailah and Jordie Haukaas, Quincey Tiger and Adrian Haukaas, Anastasia and David Haukaas, Claire, Pau, Cortney, Kaila, Richmond, Kelsey and Chloe Eagle Road, Myleigh, Iley and Jacquin Oesterholz, Andrew, Chaistyn, Lainey and Lexi Eagle Road, Ryan, Katelyn and Blake Brown, and Calli and Ashdon Pingatore; grandparents Christine Haukaas, Frank Rodriguez, Raphael and Janie Eagle Road, Vincent and Marva Haukaas, Ron and Beatrice Haukaas, Belva Eagle Road, Mais Cournier and Geraldine War Bonnet.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Lorenzo and Betty Eagle Road, Vale and Doris Gilbert; aunt Susie Gilbert; uncles James Ray Eagle Road and Burke Ute.
Services are provided by Wind Dancer Funeral Home of Fort Washakie.
