She was born March 17, 1949, in Fremont, Neb., to Howard L. Pieters and Constance M. (Lee) Pieters-Houfek. She was the eldest of four children and was very young when they moved to Riverton, where she made her home well into adulthood.

They lived in Riverton until 1991, when Mr. Eaton got a calling to work in a church in Wright. They lived there until 1997 when, because of medical issues, they had to leave Wyoming. They moved to Salina, Kan., where they were active with their church. In 2011, Mrs. Eaton returned to Wyoming to be closer to her family. She resided in the Mountain Towers nursing home in Cheyenne and then moved to the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home in Wheatland. She remained there until her death.
Her family said Mrs. Eaton loved crafts, including various sewing and cross-stitching projects, working on word puzzles, playing bingo and visiting with friends and family.
