Laramie dance group sets Tuesday show, workshop in Riverton

May 13, 2016 From staff reports

Dance in Unlikely Places, a small touring group based in Laramie, is coming to the Riverton Museum, 700 E. Park Ave., for a workshop and show at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 17.

The mission of Dance in Unlikely Places is to expose various locations in Wyoming to collegiate level concert dance.

Dance in Unlikely Places also seeks to expose its viewers to the beauty of Wyoming by inviting local community members to performances, and through documentation of performances.

The show will run approximately 30 minutes and includes various genres of dance such as ballet, modern, jazz and musical theater.

The workshops will run approximately 45 minutes to an hour and are loosely based on a jazz class.

Workshops are open to all ages and skill levels.

The visit is part of a tour funded by the University of Wyoming's Cultural Outreach Program. This year the tour runs May 16-19.

The group of five UW dance majors will be performing and teaching workshops at 16 different locations across the state.
