SHAKESPEARE

A son was born to Janett SunRhodes, of Arapahoe, on May 27, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces.

Deaths

DAY

Mary Jane Day, of Natchitoches, La., and formerly of Riverton, died July 5, 2012, at her home. A visitation was 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La. A memorial service was at 11 a.m. in the chapel following the visitation.

SIMONSON

Hugh James Simonson, 78, of Lander, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. Cremation has taken place, and there will be a private family service later this summer.

WALTON

Quienton C. "Chuck" Walton, 80, died July 7, 2012, at his home in Riverton. Memorial services will be at a later date.

WARWICK

Wayne L. Warwick, 79, of Riverton and formerly of Minnesota, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at his home. A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the family home at 761 Eight Mile Road. The family asks that visitors bring a written story to share. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.

JULY 15

Gold Rush Days is at the South Pass City State Historic Site, 125 South Pass Main St., South Pass City. This event celebrates life in a western gold camp and includes vintage baseball, gold panning, stamp mill demonstrations, printing press demonstrations and live music.

Geology of the Torrey Valley Trek is at 3 p.m. at the Dubois Museum, 909 W. Ramshorn St., Dubois. The hike covers roughly 2.5 miles. Participants are asked to dress for the changing mountain weather, bring plenty of water and wear sturdy hiking shoes. Participants will carpool to the Whiskey Mountain trailhead.

JULY 16

Hot Notes Cool Nights Concert is at 7 p.m. at Riverton City Park. Rain site is the Central Wyoming College Arts Center Gallery. Featured musicians are Ann and Andy Lowe (folk music). People interested in playing in the band should arrive at 5:30 p.m. for rehearsals. Concert is free.

JULY 17

Tuesday Night Square Dancing is at the Rustic Pine Tavern Frontier Room, 119 E. Ramshorn St., Dubois. For more information, call 455-2430.

Children's Summer Reading Program Picnic is at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverton Branch Library, 1330 W. Park Ave.

Eagle Spirit Dancers is at 7 p.m. July 18 at the Museum of the American West, 1445 Main St., Lander.

Fremont County School District 25 Board Meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Administration Office, 121 N. Fifth St. West, Riverton.

Jackie and Gary, Singing the Good Old Songs Again is at 7 p.m. at the Riverton Branch Library, 1330 W. Park Ave. Event is free and open to the public.

Emergency calls

In Riverton police reports from Thursday to Friday morning:

- Justin James, 30, of Riverton, was arrested for a Sweetwater County Warrant.

- Broderick Hopper, 18, of Riverton, was arrested for a Fremont County Warrant.

In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Thursday to Friday morning:

- Regina Dewey, 37, of Riverton, was arrested for simple assault.

- Silverio Rosalez, 52, of Green River, was arrested for probation revocation.

- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 12 calls and firefighters were dispatched three times.
