Jul 15, 2012 - From staff reportsFremont County government is seeking applicants to serve on the planning commission and the museums board.
Each group has a seat that is available. The seats are three-year terms.
County planning department director Ray Price said the open seat on the planning commission is the vacancy created by Paula Hunker, who did not seek reappointment.
"It's a great way to be involved in what's going on in Fremont County," Price said. "And it's really not a huge commitment. They meet once a month and we usually spend part of a day looking at the locations of where the proposed subdivisions are."
County planning commissioners include Kristin Paulsen, Harold Albright, Richard Emond and Tom Jones.
The planning commission meets on the fourth Thursday of the month starting at 7 p.m. in commission chambers at the county courthouse in Lander.
The museums board typically meets on the second Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. with locations rotating between Riverton, Lander and Dubois.
For more information, call commission secretary Becky Enos at 332-1130.
