Valorena Delorne Tassitsie

Valorena Delorne Tassitsie, 72, of Fort Washakie, died July 6, 2012, at the Purdue Valley Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., after a lengthy illness.
Services were Friday, July 13, at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie. Burial followed at Sacajawea cemetery, under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.
Valorena Delorne Tassitsie was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Fort Washakie to Abraham and Irene Bonatsie Tassitsie. She lived in the Crowheart area until 1962, where she attended Crowheart School and later Dubois High School.
She was of the Christian faith and attend numerous camp meetings throughout Montana and Wyoming with her sister Thelma Jarvis, with whom she resided most of her adult life. Her sister referred to them as the "Baldwin sisters. " They were inseparable and were very devoted to one another and looked after each other. She helped raise her younger sisters and nieces.
Ms. Tassitsie had been living at the Morning Star Care Center for the last two years.
She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Posey, Beverly Large, Rosemary Perry and Philberta Tiger and husband Chris Tiger; brother Randall A. Tassitsie; cousins Helena Bonatise, Wayland Bonatsie, Ralphaleta Stump, Tim and Eula Tyler, Janet and George Hardin, Charlene Meyers and family, and Ina Tillman and family; nieces and nephews Lola Nipwater, Rene Green, Eustace Day, Jacoby Hereford Sr., Gail Marie St. Clair, Bobbie Lynne St. Clair, Ethelyn Kimberly St. Clair, Ryan Thomas Tiger, Robert Hereford Jr. and family, R. V. Dean and Patty Hereford, Reyenesse Hereford, Christine Thompson, Raelynne Ferris, Jesse LaJeunesse, Arthea LaJeunesse, Albert Perry Jr., Virginia Perry, Gary Moon Jr., Louis Jarvis Jr., Ted Jarvis, Mona Jarvis, Delray, Derrick, Dale, Anton Green and Dion Ferris, Novita and Wyona Jarvis, Robert Brown, R. V. Hereford Jr., Ryle and Evandra Hereford; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mosses Tassitsie, Duty Dana Tyler and Hugo Bonatise; her parents, Abrham and Irene Tassitsie; her niece, Tammy Day Griego; sisters Thelma Jarvis, Sharon Hereford, Cynthia Snyder, Aletha Jean and Ardela Kay Tassitsie; brother Elroy Eugene Tassitsie.
