Jan 31, 2012 - StaffFuneral services for Brandon Sterken, grandson of Clyde and Bobbi Johnson of Riverton, are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at New Life Wesleyan Church in Gillette with Pastor Chris McFadden officiating.
Burial follows in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at Gillette.
Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Gillette Memorial Chapel.
He died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at his home in Gillette, at the age of 17.
Brandon Kodey Maurice Sterken was born Nov. 18, 1994, in Aurora, Colo.
As an infant, he moved with his family to Gillette, where he attended Sunflower and Wagon Wheel Elementary Schools, Sage Valley Junior High and Campbell County High School. He was the Camel left guard and left tackle, earning all-conference honors for the 2011 season.
His family said he also enjoyed hunting, all types of music and being with his friends.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Christine Johnson, and a little brother, Nathan, all of Gillette; grandparents Clyde and Bobbi Johnson of Riverton; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Gillian.
