Charles Walton

Charles "Chuck" Walton of Riverton died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at his home with his family by his side. He was 80.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

Quienton Charles Walton Jr. was born May 21, 1932, in Oklahoma City to Quienton Charles Walton Sr. and Anna Valeria (Sloan) Walton.

Mr. Walton moved to Riverton 54 years ago and worked in the oil field. He was a mud engineer for Baroid until 1965.

He then started Dry Drilling Service and operated it until he changed career paths and became a real estate appraiser and developer.

On Sept. 7, 1971, he married Shirley Jean Colgan in Thermo-polis.

He was a member of the River-ton Country Club and Sertoma.

Mr. Walton's family said he enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and skiing.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons Doug Walton and Rick Colgan; daughters Debra Walton, Karen Royce and Terri Warrior; sisters Ann Brown and Nancy Stoltz; all of their spouses; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
