Jul 29, 2012 - From staff reportsMonday's Military Appreciation Night accompanying the first night of the Fremont County Fair PRCAR00;Ram Rodeo will include an appearance by a Wyoming National Guard helicopter.
The UH-60 Black Hawk and crew will fly to Riverton from their base in Cheyenne. Plans call for the big chopper to land at Riverton Regional Airport first, then fly to the fairgrounds after the area has been scouted by the crew.
Before then, the Black Hawk will be available for public review from 1-5 p.m. Monday on the Central Wyoming College north lawn, where the hot-air balloons launch.
Veterans to be honored before the rodeo are:
Bill Crump WWII, Lander;
Commander David Magruder, Navy Reserve, active, Afghanistan veteran, Riverton;
Sgt. Erik Holloway, U.S. Army veteran: Iraq veteran;
Tommy Adkins, U.S. Army,: Iraq veteran.
Active Ary Reserve Maj. Tim Salazar of Dubois is the keynote speaker. The invocation is by a Navy veteran, the Rev. Allen Lamber, Department of Wyoming chaplain. John Sousa of Riverton sings the national anthem.
