Rotary's duck derby set for Saturday afternoon near the fairgroundsAug 2, 2012 - By Emily Etheredge, Staff Writer The Riverton Rotary Club is hosting a rubber duck derby at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 4, to support the elimination of polio. Participants adopt a rubber duck for $10 or a "quack pack" of ducks consisting of six ducks for $50. Each duck has a registration number attached. The ducks will race down the Wind River. The race begins at 2 p.m. at the Rotary fire pit on the south end of Second Street, just west of the Fremont County Fairgrounds. The top $10 ducks will receive prizes including a hunting trip, round trip tickets for two from Riverton to Denver, a freezer, a golf outing, a casino getaway package, dinner for four, and other prizes. |
