Aug 15, 2012 - StaffJean Elizabeth Dewey Ewing, formerly of Riverton, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Poplar Living Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. Interment will follow at the cemetery.
Jean Elizabeth Dewey was born August 25, 1920, in Custer County Nebraska to Ada and Dave Dewey. The family homesteaded near Gillette, and then settled outside of Riverton in 1935.
She graduated from Shoshoni High School in 1937 and married Robert Howard Ewing on May 6, 1938, in Riverton.
Mrs. Ewing had lived in Casper for 54 years.
Her family said she enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, bingo, fishing and watching sports on television, especially Tiger Woods and the Broncos. She loved her bedroom patio doors on the hill where she always looked for the college lights, her birds and flowers.
She is survived by three daughters, Bobbie Harrington and Janice Lott of Casper and Judy Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Ewing; her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
