Wallace "Wally" N. Cockerham, 69, formerly of Fremont County, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at the Central Wyoming Hospice Kloefcorn Home in Casper. At his request, there will be no services.
Lenna Jeanette Adams James, 68, of Fremont County, died Saturday, Aug. 4.
Frank and Sharon Palmer, formerly of Fremont County, died Aug. 7, 2012, in their home in Casper. Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 13, at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel.
Gerald Sage Sr., 73, of Ethete, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, in his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the family home, 436 Ethete Road, Ethete. Interment will follow at the Sage-Redman Cemetery. An evening service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, also at the family home with a wake to follow.
James "Jim" Williams, 86, of Riverton, died Monday, Aug. 13, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Memorials services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Davis Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Thurman will officiate. Military honors and graveside services will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Crowheart Butte Battle Historical Days and Powwow is Aug. 17 to Aug. 19 at 33 Old Yellowstone Highway. All drum groups, dancers and the general public are welcome.
Lander Sprint Triathlon is at 7 a.m. in Lander. Regular registration is June 1 to July 31, $45 individual and $105 team. Late registration is Aug. 1 to Aug. 17, $55 individual and $135 team. An Educator's Guide to Sinks Canyon State Park Workshop is 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sinks Canyon State Park. The workshop is free. Receive a copy of the guide, participate in activities, learn about plants and rock art from content experts, and qualify for .5 professional development credits. Hiking Rock Creek and the South Fork Canyon is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. WWA welcomes families and older (more seasoned) hikers to explore Rock Creek with them. "HOT" Dog Wash is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dubois Library, 202 N. First St., Dubois. Volunteers will have warm water to wash even the smallest, most sensitive dogs. Dog wash is $5 per dog, and proceeds go to support the local Humane Society. Pizza and refreshments will be served to those who volunteer.
Buffalo Barbecue is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Museum of the American West, 1445 Main St., Lander. Open to the public.
Wind River Lives and Legacies: The Heritage of Little Scotland is at 7 p.m. at the Dennison Lodge, 909 W. Ramshorn St., Dubois. Dessert reception is at 6 p.m. and a brief meeting of the museum association is at 6:45 p.m. This free event is a slide presentation of century-old photos of the settlers of East Fork.

In Riverton police reports from Wednesday to Thursday morning:
- Adrian Lonebear, 42, of Riverton, was arrested for a municipal court warrant.
- Steven Amos, 40, of Riverton, was arrested for public intoxication.
- Leah Lonebear, 30, of St. Stephen's, was arrested for shoplifting and Fremont County warrants.
- Stephanie Spoonhunter, 29, of Riverton, was arrested for driving under the influence and a Fremont County warrant.
In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Wednesday to Thursday morning:
- Carol Mcneil, 57, of Lander, was arrested for a warrant out of Washakie County.
- Jessica Norse, 24, of Riverton, was arrested for simple assault.
- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 18 calls for service and firefighters were dispatched once.
