Aug 19, 2012 - From staff reportsThe Wyoming Department of Transportation is preparing to contnue various construction projects on Highway 28 in Red Canyon.
Repairs of the Double Nickel Slide above Red Canyon on Wyoming 28 are ongoing, and roadway reconstruction through the 1,200-foot work zone is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 20.
The project completion date is Sept. 30.
Additionally, a second round of asphalt paving is scheduled for Aug. 20-21 as part of a Wyoming 28 highway improvement project near the Red Canyon Overlook.
Erik Smith, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Lander, is encouraging motorists to slow down through the work zone. "For the safety of the workers and everyone else, please slow down," he said.
