Two-vehicle accident closes highway temporarilyAug 24, 2012 - Staff Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper Erik Shoden inspected the interior of a van that was involved in a two-vehicle accident just after 2 p.m. Thursday on Wyoming Highway 789 north of Riverton. Officials said the 70-year-old driver of the van was heading toward Riverton when he fell asleep at the wheel, veering into a tractor-trailer that was headed for Casper after delivering a load of fuel to Riverton. The van's driver was transported to Riverton Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries. The highway was closed for about two hours after the accident. Traffic was rerouted through Hidden Valley. |
