Two missing near Washakie Dam; drowning feared

Fremont County emergency responders continued searching Tuesday for two subjects who were reported missing at about 4:30 p.m. Monday at Washakie Dam about nine miles west of Fort Washakie.

According to initial reports, the two subjects possibly had drowned.

Fremont County Search and Rescue crews arrived on scene Monday afternoon; the search was put on hold just before 9 p.m. Monday and was resumed at 6 a.m. Tuesday when search and rescue officials sent divers to comb the area underwater.

Fremont County Sheriff's Captain Ryan Lee said his agency would assist the Wind River Police Department with the incident.
