Picture of old Lions Club center sparked nice memorySep 7, 2012 - Alta Barker, Riverton Editor: I enjoyed seeing the picture of the old Lions Club Youth Center being moved. It was interesting to see that it was only built in the 1940s. I remember it very well and always just assumed it was one of Riverton's "pioneer" buildings. I would add that it is too bad there really is no longer anything like it in Riverton anymore. As I recall it was easy to get permission to use it, and it didn't have a bar connected to it so youth activities were always OK to have there. I remember Halloween parties at night at that location. Also, it really was a good looking building, wasn't it? Thanks for the memories. |
