James O. "Jimmy" Christie, 76, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, in Lander.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in Chattanooga, Tenn., at a later date.

James Oscar Christie was born July 8, 1935, in Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennie Lou Gothard Christie and James Wallace Christie.

Mr. Christie lived with his family in New York, Tennessee, Michigan and Wyoming near his sister, Jane, and brother-in-law, Richard Vander Weyden.

He is survived by the Vander Weydens of Dubois, and Delton, Mich.; sisters Charlotte Broyles of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Margaret Schumacher of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Atlanta; five nieces and a nephew.

He was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Memorials may be made to the Wyoming Life Resource Center, 8204 State Hwy. 789, Lander, WY 82520, where Mr. Christie lived the last years of his life.
