DigestSep 12, 2012 - The Associated Press Comment time to be extended MOOSE -- The National Park Service is giving the public more time to comment on redevelopment plans for Colter Bay Village in Grand Teton National Park. Public comment is now being accepted through Sept. 20. The deadline had been this Thursday. Grand Teton plans to redevelop the area at a cost of $9.5 million because the visitor center is old and has numerous deficiencies. The visitor center was built in the late 1950s.
Ceremonies as troops return CHEYENNE -- Ceremonies at the Wyoming Air National Guard base in Cheyenne are welcoming home several of the 44 Wyoming soldiers who are returning from deployments to Afghanistan and Kosovo. Five airmen from the 187th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, 153rd Airlift Wing, are returning after four months in Afghanistan. They were honored in a ceremony at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday. At 3:45 p.m., 16 airmen from the 153rd Airlift Wing were honored in a ceremony. They flew in from Afghanistan on a C-130 transport plane. Meanwhile, 23 troops with Detachment 3, B Company, 777th Aviation are returning from a year in Kosovo. |
