Sep 18, 2012 - From staff reportsOfficials cited Gentry Blackburn, 19, of Riverton, for driving under the influence and driving without a license at about 9:20 a.m. Saturday after he reportedly drove a 1990 Chevrolet Blazer off the street near the intersection of Smith Road and East Park Avenue.
According to reports, the vehicle traveled 200 yards off Smith Road and struck a nearby tree head-on.
Blackburn then reportedly fled the scene, but he was apprehended walking along Smith Road about three-quarters of a mile away.
Deputies said Blackburn had just purchased a can of air duster. He reportedly told deputies that he had "huffed" the duster while driving down Smith Road, which caused him to pass out behind the wheel, drive off the roadway, and crash into the tree.
Damages from the collision were estimated at more than $1,000.
Blackburn was taken to the Riverton Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries.
