Wolverine volleyball team heads to Casper

Sep 19, 2012 - By Craig Blumenshine, Staff Writer

The Riverton Lady Wolverines volleyball team will begin a long three-day trip to Casper Thursday when they take on the Cheyenne Central Lady Thunderbirds in a single non-conference match at Natrona County High School.

The Lady Wolverines will play Friday and Saturday in the large Casper Invitational Tournament at the Casper Events Center. The four-court layout is similar to how the site will play during the Wyoming State Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 25-27.

During the 16-team tournament, RHS (10-11, 2-3 Class 4-A West) will battle Gillette, Cody and Wheatland in pool play before advancing to Saturday bracket play.

"We are looking to focus on coming out and playing hard from the start of the game, and also when we are ahead we are looking to finish. It seems some games we do one or the other but have yet to do both.

That is one of the main goals for this weekend," head coach Adrian McNamee said.
