Long recognized as a Future Farmers of America powerhouse, Shoshoni High School was preparing to name its 1986 judging team in late September 1968.

Instructor Bob Meredith had lots of members to evaluate before choosing the team, which would represent Shoshoni at the Wyoming State FFA Judging Contest a few days later -- Sept. 30 -- at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

Chapter officers for 1968 were president Charles Herbst, vice president Jim Briddle, secretary Ben Gordon, treasurer Bart Humphreys, sentinel Jim Rhoads, parliamentarian Bill Suppes, reporter Mike Peacock, first officer at large Terry Cantrell, and second officer at large Roy Haggerty.
