Sawmill to reopen in Saratoga

Sep 25, 2012 - The Associated Press

A sawmill is expected to reopen in Saratoga in December, bringing what the new owner says will be more than 80 job opportunities to Carbon County.

Numerous sawmills in the Rocky Mountains have closed in recent years. The industry blames low timber prices, inconsistent supply from federal lands, increased transportation costs and competition from Canadian sources, among other factors.
