Elizabeth Patricia Blackburn Poleviyaoma, of Provo, Utah, and formerly of the Wind River Reservation, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She was 68 years old.
Rosary and wake will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 100 C'Hair Lane, the home of Frances Blackburn. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.
Elizabeth Patricia was born Dec. 29, 1944, to Joseph Thomas Blackburn Sr. and Viola C'Hair. She attended St. Stephen's schools and lived in the Arapahoe area where her family is from.
She was baptized at St. Stephen's Catholic Church and also attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah.
She married William J. C'Hair. Together they had five daughters. They later divorced. She later married Virgil Poleviyaoma and had one daughter. They later divorced.
She resided in Salt Lake City for more than 30 years. She worked as a CNA at St. Joseph's Villa in addition to being a homemaker and raising her daughters.
Her family said she was a hard worker, providing for her family. They said she enjoyed living in Salt Lake City. Later she resided at the Tower Rehabilitation and nursing care center in Provo, Utah. Her family said during her stay in the care center she was very outgoing and sociable. Her family said she enjoyed her grandchildren and being with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Annie C'Hair, Wilhelmina Underwood, Sandra C'Hair and Carolina Chacon; three sisters, Frances Blackburn, Jane Dewey and Angela Blackburn; three brothers, Joseph Thomas Blackburn Jr., Melvin Roy Blackburn and Freeman J. Blackburn; aunts Bernice Emarthle, Alice Molash and Patricia Snook; uncle Kenneth Blackburn Sr.; companion of 18 years, Les Paul; 19 grandchildren, Yolanda C'Hair, Sheldon Bell Jr., John Underwood Jr., Stevie Underwood, Audrey Underwood, Jordan Franklin, Linh Nguyen, Joey, Rex, Travis, Joseda all C'Hair, J.R. Smith, Rosio, Jose, Andrea, Lorrita, Angel, Edith all Chacon and Stephen C'Hair; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola C'Hair; father Joseph Blackburn Sr.; stepmother Lucy Blackburn; grandfather Seth Blackburn; daughters Lorreta Kaye and Corrina Faye C'Hair; brothers Stoney Sr. and Patrick Blackburn Sr.; sisters Elvita Haskins and Emily Rose Blackburn; aunt Catherine Joy Shakespeare; uncles Howard, Charles, Linus, John, Edward and James Blackburn.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
