Oct 2, 2012 - StaffTommy R. Vechnak, of Riverton, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He was 66 years old.
Visitation of family and friends will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Davis Funeral Home.
Tommy Ray Vechnak was born Aug. 4, 1946, to Joe Vechnak and Tessie Leanna (Timmons) Vechnak in Colegate, Okla. He was one of six boys.
He spent his early years in Oklahoma. He then joined the Army, where he was honorably discharged.
In 1968 he moved to Wyoming. He was in the construction business, and he eventually started his own company, V Corp.
His family said he enjoyed being on the pool leagues in Rawlins, painting, fishing, camping, spending time outdoors and especially with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Tommy of Clinton, Wash., and Brian of Riverton; brothers Joe, Bill, John and Kenny Vechnak; one grandson, Joseph.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
